Unpaid data protection fee letter – does this apply to you?

We have spoken to a number of our clients who have received letters from the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) in the past week.

As part of the GDPR process, all businesses who process any form of personal data are required to register with the ICO.

In terms of eligibility for your particular case, you are able to use the self-assessment form created by the ICO which will allow you to see if you need to pay the fee.

Click here to open the self-assessment form in a new window

If your company is dormant or is not processing any information (i.e. using CCTV for crime prevention) then no fee would be required to be paid.

If you have any further questions regarding this please let us know and we will always be happy to help.
